Standard laverda triple restoration
Here is the condition as bought:
Pictures don't seem to show how bad it really is. Most parts will have to be fixed and painted/polished/plated but quite a lot will be exchange parts from stock. This is the beauty of doing it on a bulk scale. I will be going deep into the engine as it will need pistons and cams (at the very least) in order to be a proper Jota. The rest is cosmetic really. |
I collected a big pile of parts (some from this project) from the chromer, just the far side of the the Jarama circuit from me. Lots of new chrome/zinc/polishing. I try to get things done in bulk, as it helps the price and also makes future restorations quicker and easier

Paintwork:
I decided to replicate the gold colour used in 1978 Jotas in the UK. I managed to find an original part in that colour that had been stored in a drawer so had not discoloured.

The round sidepanel badges had self-adhesive tape so they were just stuck in place.
The '1000' logo badges were old ones I had polished up. The tangs on the back had broken to stubs so I glued them in place
