The original ignition systems are now approaching 40 years old and a common issue is deterioration of the wiring insulation. In addition the original advance curve is pretty abrupt and can be improved.
This bike has to have a new ignition system so I selected a Witt DMCII system and Dyna coils so the whole system was new and of modern design.
The first problem was to find a way to mount the Dyna coils as they are quite a bit fatter than the original coils, and space is limited.

So, after a lot of head scratching and experimentation I came up with some brackets and a way to fit everything in the space available.
Now I just need to make the brackets look pretty.
Next task is to install the Witt hardware and wire everything up. It is reasonably straightforward but it is made more difficult as all the text is in German, and there are only a few diagrams.

Hopefully I will get it all finished some time next week. I am also waiting on a few connectors and rubber covers for the coils before I can complete it.
