It all started out so well.
I received UK registration papers from the DVLA for one of my bikes. Next step is to get a numberplate organised. So, I called Halfords and asked them if the made motorcycle number plates. Yes, just bring photographic proof and no problem. So, I rushed there (not allowed to drive while DVLA has my papers) having organised a lift at short notice. When I got there I was told to provide driving licence, although we had discussed passport over the phone. Seems they only accept passport ID with forms V5C or V77, and as I had a V948 I had to show a driving licence. D'oh!
Mission failure, return to base. Driving my van from the end of the dirt track that serves as a road from the farm the track subsided and the van slid sideways into the ditch. Had to get a 4x4 to tow me out after standing in knee deep water and mud to try to dig out the front wheel. Happy days.
