A bit of a mixed day. I took a pile of stuff to the chromer for plating and polishing, should get it back before the end of the week. It pays to find a good chromer and it pays more to give him lots of work as I get fast service.
Then a bit more work on the brakes. The calipers have at some point in the past been crudely painted black to hide accident scars and general wear and tear. So before I can progress to the ultrasonic bath I have to remove all the paint. Modern pint stripper is utter crap as I am no doubt sure modern health and safety laws prohibit use of the GOOD STUFF! I have had to leave the calipers overnight covered in paint stripper to try to soften several layers of bad paint. No doubt tomorrow it will be a case of apply, wait, repeat until it's all gone.
This kind of crap eats my time up.

So, while that was cooking I did a bit of R&D. Last week I got a pile of decals made from a new supplier. Mainly small stuff but included in the mix were several sets of the stripe kit for the 1200.
The place I got my first set of stripes made is no longer able to produce them so I found another place a couple of weeks ago. This afternoon I thought I would check the decals out on a spare tank I have in the store.
The decals are quality items, just a pity they messed up the actual printing part of it.
Not really visible in the photos but the red is the wrong shade and has a series of repeating lines running through the stripes. Oh well, back to the hunt for a new supplier then.
