Exhaust: 14, 9, 10 (should be 10 thou all the way)
Inlet: 6, 0, 5 (should be 8 thou all the way)
Centre inlet was worrying, as it could actually be less than zero meaning the inlet valve had been stuck open at all times.
So, set LHS piston to TDC, with cam timing marks in the correct position, remove carburettors, back off the cam chain tensioner, remove cam chain tensioner blade, split cam chain.
Slacken off all head studs including the 2 x M7 side nuts and the 2 x M8 studs at the front and back of the cam tunnel.
Remove camshaft and then remove cam buckets to access the shims.
Measure shim thickness and calculate required shim thickness to bring all the clearances back to required clearance.
Refit shims, cam followers and then camshafts.
Re-torque all the head studs down and re-measure valve clearances.
Job done, all clearances now within tolerance.
Tomorrow I will install the new cam chain by attaching it to the old one and pulling it through while turning the engine over by hand.
