Just small stuff today.
The seat bracket had been left pickling overnight in an acid solution to remove all the rust. Despite being 47 years old it came up like new so I cleaned it off and gave it a coat of etch primer, a few coats of regular primer and then a few coats of gloss black. I will leave it to dry a day or so and then I'll get it plug welded to the new seat base. Hopefully paint damage will be localised and I can then touch it up and the seat will be finished.

I also received a nice photo of he Carbon Jota from it's home in sunny Spain. It is running well and receiving many admiring comments. It is a handsome bike even if non-standard.
The rest of today was spent measuring and making calculations to see what quantities of materials I'll need as I'm about to build a full size concrete ramp into the cave. The alloy ramp I currently use isn't ideal and as it weighs 40kg it gets old very quickly lifting it in and out each time I need to move a bike. I'm hoping to get the bulk of the work done in the coming week or so, obviously depending on weather. Watch this space.
