Spent some time today trying to work out how to rebuild the electrics on the Dax. All of it is hidden within the chassis and most of it is hard to reach.
Anyway, I managed to work out which wires go where and where the fuel tank, battery tray and rectifier live.
Bear in mind I stripped it down in an afternoon about 12 years ago. I am trying to re-use as much of this bike as I can, while trying to make it as factory-fresh as possible. Surprisingly almost everything is available new and at very reasonable prices. Well it is a tiny bike and only needs one of everything. However, dozens of cheap things suddenly add up to a LOT so I have to manage this carefully on my shoestring budget.
I hope to send off the parts for plating and chroming early next week and that will be several hundred pounds alone.
Here are a couple of photos of today's efforts, tank located including all brackets and rubber supports and new headlamp rim and screws.

I also took the Atlas out for a blast today as I was scouting out a bike trail operation. Nice routes, bike shop with hire, repair and sales and a restaurant with drinks licence. Unfortunately, after putting my helmet back on when leaving I left my glasses on the rack and they proceeded to become lost forever despite retracing my steps carefully. Oh well, such is life.
