I vapour blasted the crankcases I will use. The engine in the bike is a 1000 and the upper case has been broken and badly welded. So, I had a spare set of 1200 cases, painted black. It took ages to clean off the paint and then I found a massive repair above the gearbox, which is why it was likely painted black in the first place. I had little option but to repaint it black as this hides the repair. I also had to remove a couple of broken studs.
Next I tidied up a damaged primary cover and it also got the black treatment.
And finally I had a pretty abused sprocket cover that I could never use on a top end restoration so it got cut down to improve the lines a little, plus it was another example of weight loss, as I want this one to be as light as possible.
